Authentic Models Rum Measure Cup, Copper

For over 300 years, the many navies of the world served daily rum rations. The rum barrel was rolled out each day to the scuttlebutt near the main hatch. Under armed guard, and using the standard size cup, the Ship s Purser served sailors from one to six tots of rum ( .25 Gill each), depending on the conditions of war and weather. The tradition continued until the 1950s. Decorated with the stylized Crown and Anchor of the British Navy. Handmade in copper and brass, silver-plated inside.
