The Bread

Choose a sturdy, round loaf, like a sourdough, from our Bakery. Slice off the top, hollow out the center and voilà — you’ve got yourself a bowl! Don’t discard the scooped-out bread. The fluffy interior can be cubed and toasted for dipping, making great use of every bit of bread.

The Dip

It’s the heart and soul of this edible ensemble. Premade or homemade, warm or chilled, the right dip transforms a bread bowl and can really make the party. Shoot for a dip that’s thick enough to cling to bread cubes and won’t make the bowl soggy. A few of our faves: Spinach Dip, Buffalo Chicken Dip, Roasted Red Pepper Hummus and Crab Dip.

The Veggies

Surround your bread bowl with the toasted bread cubes and a colorful array of fresh veggies, like broccoli, carrot sticks, cauliflower and sugar snap peas. Plus, the vegetables help ensure there’s something for everyone to enjoy. You can save even more time by picking up a tray of precut veggies from our Produce Department.
