If you are planning to use insurance to cover medical nutrition therapy, some insurances may require a physician referral for coverage. Contact your insurance carrier for more information about your plan.

In-person appointments are currently only available for the greater Nashville area at Westhaven Village in Franklin, TN (411 Whitman Rd., Franklin, TN 37064). Call 513-387-8313 to schedule.

Most first appointments last between 45 minutes and 1 hour, while follow-up appointments last about 30 minutes

Your nutrition expert will ask questions to get to know you, your history and lifestyle. You’ll have the opportunity to share your goals and what you’re hoping to learn. Your nutrition expert will answer your burning nutrition questions and provide actionable and personalized recommendations for change that’ll provide you with the maximum benefit.

Whether you want to improve your shopping and cooking skills or are looking for nutrition education, we believe in providing accessible and affordable live nutrition care. Today, the out-of-pocket cost of an appointment is as follows:

Initial visit - 45 to 60 minutes - $99

Follow-up visit - 30 minutes - $59

For appointments where medical nutrition therapy is provided, the Kroger Health Registered Dietitians are now accepting UnitedHealthcare, Ambetter, Anthem, and Cigna insurance in certain states and for certain employer groups.*

Many find their nutrition goals are best supported by working with their nutrition expert over three to six appointments. This gives time to implement in real life what is learned in an appointment and add in new nutrition skills when ready.

During scheduling, you can select your nutrition expert! Our nutrition experts are registered dietitian nutritionists with plenty of experience and a passion for meeting people wherever they may be in their personal health journey.

Registered dietitian nutritionists are food and nutrition experts who have met the Commission on Dietetic Registration’s criteria to earn this credential and title, including a bachelor’s and/or graduate degree in nutrition from an approved program, over 1,000 hours of supervised practice and a passing score on a national registration exam. These healthcare professionals are trained and specialized in providing medical nutrition therapy, nutrition counseling and nutrition coaching to help prevent, delay or manage disease or conditions. A registered dietitian may also be referred to as dietitian, nutritionist, nutrition coach, online nutritionist, personal nutritionist, virtual dietitian, nutrition expert, and more.
